Founded in 1945, the Lutheran Historical Society of Eastern Pennsylvania (LHSEPA) honors and seeks to perpetuate the historical legacy and tradition of congregations and institutions on the historic territory of the Evangelical Lutheran Ministerium of Pennsylvania and Adjacent States (and successor synods). This includes the territory of the current Northeastern Pennsylvania and Southeastern Pennsylvania Synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
